Two Parks, Rec Employees Injured By Falling Tree At Park In Westchester

Two parks and recreation department employees were injured when a tree fell and struck them.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:50 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, at Neptune Park in New Rochelle. The injuries were sustained as the pair were conducting a regularly scheduled cleanup at the park, New Rochelle Police Capt. Cosmo Costa said.

One employee suffered a head injury and the other sustained a shoulder injury. Costa said both employees were conscious and have been transported to a local hospital for evaluation on the injuries.

Paramedics from Empress, officers from the New Rochelle Police Department, members of the Parks and Recreation Department and crews from the New Rochelle Fire Department responded to the scene.
